Abbot Taylor Tracy, SCR, the founding pastor of Christ the King Church, began the community in 2020 and co-founded the Society of Christ the King.
He completed studies at Wichita State University, Newman University, The Liturgical Institute (the University of Saint Mary on the Lake), and diaconal and sacerdotal studies with the Society of Christ the King.
In addition, then-Fr. Tracy completed an extensive internship and a 3,500-hour residency in clinical pastoral education at the University of Kansas Medical Center, emphasizing pastoral care for trauma and oncology patients.
Abbot Tracy serves as a church planting consultant, spiritual director, and chaplain mentor. He is also an avid outdoorsman, and hiking, fishing, and biking are some of his favorite pastimes.
In early March 2024, the Provincial Chapter of the Eastern Province unanimously nominated Fr. Tracy to serve as their next Bishop. On Sunday, April 21, 2024 (Good Shepherd Sunday), the laity and clergy of the Province affirmed this nomination by unanimously electing Fr. Taylor to serve as the next Bishop for the people of the Eastern Province of the Society of Christ the King and approved by the Executive Chapter of the Society.
